Arrivals:
All children must be at the Nursery by 8:30 am. For the safety of each child, the gate will remain locked beyond 8:30 am. Punctuality is vital as being late and missing out on part of their daily routine can be very upsetting for a child. Therefore, do not have your child experience an unnecessary late arrival. If you foresee that you will be late for whatever reason, kindly call the Nursery and inform our Receptionist ahead of time.
Breakfast Club:
For those families that require an earlier start to the child’s day, we offer a “Breakfast Club”. Families that need this additional service may send a healthy and nutritious breakfast for their child and bring them in starting at 7:30am. The Breakfast Club Coordinator will ensure to welcome and encourage the child to have a positive start to their day. At 8:00am the child will be accompanied to their classroom.
Dismissals:
All children must be picked up during dismissal time promptly. Dismissal time is from 12:15pm to 12:30pm. Early dismissals are disruptive to your child’s day and to all the other children attending our Nursery. If families require an early pick up through the course of the day, kindly call the Nursery and inform our Receptionist ahead of time.PLEASE MENTION and IDENTIFY who will pick up your child. If someone other than a parent picks up the child (e.g. aunts, uncles, grandparents) they must have a written note and a proper I.D. The Nursery will always call to confirm the identity of the adult picking up the child.
Extended Day Programme:
We have an extended day program available for those children that need to stay at the nursery beyond 12:30pm. Families that need this additional service have an option of leaving their child here until 2:00 pm, 5:00pm or 6:00pm. During our Extended Day Program we aim to create a ‘home environment’ for the children in which they can explore, learn, relax and socialize.
Our Schedule for the Extended Day Programme:
12:30pm – It’s lunch time!
The children will have their lunch with their teachers. After eating, they will brush their teeth and change their clothes. Kindly ensure that your child always has an extra set of clothes, as well as a toothbrush and toothpaste that are to be kept at school.

The health and safety of the children under our care is one of our main priorities. All classrooms and common areas are monitored by a CCTV system, which allows parents to view their child at the nursery in real time and monitor their progress. A password entry system, secure fencing around all outside play areas, safety gates, wall corner guards and finger protection are in place to provide parents with that extra peace of mind when you leave your child in our care.
To further ensure that the highest standards of health and safety are maintained, we undertake risk assessments and make routine regular inspections. Our staff is certified in Paediatric First Aid, and a registered nurse is present onsite to further ensure that we provide the best care for your child. A doctor also visits the Nursery regularly to conduct general health and safety checks.
To give you a better idea of how we work, here are a few of the procedures that we follow in order to provide a hygienic, safe and secure environment on a daily basis for your child…
- Safety procedures are in place for the safe arrival and dismissal of children. If someone other than a parent picks up the child, they must have prior permission from the child’s parents and present a proper I.D.
- Our main gate and main door will remain close after 8:30am. All visitors MUST identify themselves and sign in our Guest Book at the main security gate before coming into the premises.
- A password entry system ensures that only people with a legitimate reason for being inside the Nursery or Admin Office have access to it.
- Children are never left unsupervised when in our premises or when using our buses.
- The children are made aware of safety issues through classroom discussions, planned activities and routines.
- Our staircase is equipped with safety gates, an anti slip protection and child height handrail.
- Before taking children on Field Trips, a risk assessment of the venue will be conducted by the responsible teachers and the Principal.
- We have a NO SMOKING POLICY for all staff members, parents and guests.
- Our Nursery includes smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. Fire drills are conducted with our children once every term.
- Cleaning materials are kept locked in the kitchen out of the reach of children.
- We implement good hygiene practices by thoroughly cleaning and/or sanitizing all classrooms, other common areas and used toys on a daily basis.
- Hand sanitizer dispensers are present throughout the Nursery.
- Disposable gloves, masks and mat liners are always used by staff when changing diapers or helping children in the washroom.
- Toilets are regularly inspected and cleaned.
- Changing of children’s diapers and clothes is conducted in designated areas in the washrooms to respect their privacy and dignity.
- Children who are undergoing toilet training are reminded to use the toilet at regular intervals. All staff members have been trained on how to deal with accidents that might occur during the toilet training process.
- Dental hygiene will also be emphasized throughout the Academic Year. Children that stay for our Extended Day Programme are required to keep a toothbrush and toothpaste at school.
At Toddlers International Nursery the emphasis on security is also present on our buses, which are all equipped with first aid kits, fitted lap seatbelts, fire extinguishers and air conditioning. To further ensure the children’s safety, a bus register is taken and signed at each collection & delivery point for each and every journey.
To monitor the safety and wellbeing of the children using our transport service, a trained female bus assistant is always present on our buses. This designated bus attendant is responsible for dropping your child safely home and she will only hand your little one over to yourself or to a responsible adult, which has been previously designated by you to collect your child. For your further convenience, our bus attendants will make a courtesy call to parents when the bus is 5 minutes away from the designated stop.
Our Bus Coordinator has created an efficient and timely bus route for each of our individual branches. Please contact us for availability in your area.
At Toddlers International Nursery we value the parents’ role as their child’s first and most enduring educators and we understand the importance of parents being fully involved in their child’s learning and development. Therefore, we strive to work closely with our families to create the best environment for each and every child by constantly promoting a two way flow of information and knowledge.
We are also committed to making families feel welcome and valued through a range of opportunities for collaboration and participation. These include:
- Writing articles for our monthly Newsletters;
- Organizing events as a member of our Parent Committee;
- Celebrating your child’s birthday at the Nursery;
- Helping in Field Trips and other school events/celebrations;
- By being a part of one of our ‘special clubs’: Parents will be invited into their child’s classroom to conduct an activity, such as reading a story, cooking or baking or playing a musical instrument with our children.
We also encourage any form of feedback that will help us to improve the support that we provide for your child. For suggestions, general feedback/questions or more information on our ‘Parents as Partners’ Programme, kindly enquire with your child’s classroom teacher or at our Admin office.
Regular and effective communication between parents and his/her child’s classroom teacher is essential in order to meet each child’s individual needs and help enhance the child’s overall progress and development. As each family is different, we recommend parents to establish their preferred mode of communication and frequency with his/her child’s classroom teacher from the very beginning. Nonetheless, rest assured that, when the need arises, the classroom teacher will always place a call to the parents.
Parents will also be weekly updated on class activities via email and they will often be guided as to how to extend learning at home. If necessary, families may also be invited to meet with the Teacher and the Principal. The purpose of such meetings is to share observations on the child and, when needed, find ways to support him/her in a particular area of development or learning.
Throughout the Academic Year we constantly promote a two way flow of information and knowledge. These are some additional ways in which we communicate and exchange information with our families:
- Our Parent Handbook
- Our website (www.toddlersintlnursery.com).
- Our Parents’ Notice Boards located in our Admin Office and near our main gate.
- The “Getting to Know You” form that you will complete when your child first joins.
- Orientation Meetings for all new families at the beginning of each term.
- Monthly newsletters that will be sent out via email at the end of each month.
- Phone calls if and when necessary.
- Emails with general notices and reminders.
- Parent Teacher Interviews which take place at the end of each term.
- Termly reports about your child based on observations.
- Parents’ evenings and other social events (e.g. Spring Carnival, Coffee Mornings, etc).
- Suggestion Box located in our main reception.
We also encourage any form of feedback that will help us to improve the support that we provide for your child. For suggestions, general feedback/questions or more information on our ‘Parents as Partners’ Programme, kindly enquire with your child’s classroom teacher or at our Admin office.
Whether your child is coming to the nursery for the first time or whether he/she is being transferred from another setting or classroom, being in a new environment is always a significant transition for a child. To ease the process, at the beginning of each term we introduce our children and families to a ‘settling in period’. As every child is unique, this adaptation period can be shorter or longer. Typically though it lasts for about two to three weeks.
During the settling in period, parents will be asked to wait in our Admin Office. If a child needs to go home early, the parent will be called upon by a staff member and asked to meet their child at the Reception Area. For those families wishing to view their child via the CCTV, they may subscribe to this service. This may be arranged through our Accounts Department.
Here are a few basic suggestions on how to help your child during this transition:
- Visit the Nursery with your child before his/her first day.
- Speak of the Nursery in positive ways as a place in which your child will have fun and make new friends.
- Reassure your child that you will come back to pick him/her up.
- Never leave the child without saying goodbye.
- Prior to your child’s first day of school, please establish an early bedtime routine for your child. Ideally, children should be in bed by 8:00pm. Well-rested children tend to concentrate better, feel happier and settle faster.
Parent Orientation Meeting
At the beginning of each term, we conduct a Parent Orientation meeting for our families. This meeting give parents an opportunity to meet his/her child’s classroom teacher(s), ask questions and hear more about the programme that the child will be participating in.
